Startups and major corporate clients alike bring their own unique set of triumphs and challenges. We often say that some of our finest learning moments have come from being embedded with startups, and we love flexing our entrepreneurial muscles. The founders of Music Aficionado saw a market opportunity to create a premier music service for the affluent Gen X & Baby Boomer generations. Beyond heterogenous outlets like Youtube & Facebook, they were looking to cut the noise, elevate a solely music conversation, and monetize a social platform to appeal to this demographic.
When Music Aficionado began, the idea was to create high-end digital magazine, but through prototyping and experience with real users, the concept pivoted to fill a different need. It evolved from a passive, top down experience, to an egalitarian music conversation. In addition to a complete identity system, UI and UX, we created an upscale social solution for discerning music lovers. The site combines on-demand music streaming with member-curated collections, videos, playlists, discussion forums and reviews.
Starting with a native app, we saw exponential growth once the responsive website was launched. Today, Music Aficionado continues to capture long user sessions and high engagement rates from regular and celebrity users alike.
